...is apparently going to get pretty damned frightful.

Starting Tuesday night and lasting all day Wednesday, the s-word. Six to twelve inches expected. The only problem is, the weathergeeks don't yet know where the six and where the twelve, so I don't know what to expect up here near the border.

I assembled the snowthrower, so that's ready to go. Stashed the sidewalk deicer by the back door. I already have the minibroom/scraper in the Forester. Should toss in the little snow shovel as well.

It would be amusing if this storm came a cropper, but somehow I think we're gonna get pasted. Hope this cold has eased up by Wednesday, and that I don't wind up with pneumonia after all the clearing is done.

The leading edge is supposed to arrive here after midnight. It isn't the snow they're talking about that has me nervous - it is the "turning to freezing rain, turning back to snow" part. I don't like ice. Not one little bit.

I'm in a location that is supposed to get all snow--the question is, when? First this thing was supposed to be over by Wednesday night, then Thursday morning. Now it's been stretched out to Thursday afternoon.

I brought work home with me Just In Case, but I may be able to get to work tomorrow since we're only supposed to get 1-3" overnight. It's Thursday morning that could be interesting. I have a feeling that I'll be out there with the thrower at 6am.

Of course, in a few days the temp is supposed to climb into the 40s, and won't make for a right mess?

We are getting dumped on big time here too. I figure the roads may be clear enough to make a mad dash to the grocery store tomorrow for supplies before the next storm hits on Thursday. We really need the moisture but this is getting old. The berms left by the snow plow must be almost six feet now.

The worst of what is supposed to heading here keeps getting pushed later, too. This morning, the report was "freezing rain by midnight, changing to snow with possible 2-4" accumlation." I just checked, and now the freezing rain isn't supposed to hit until quite late, and it is supposed to keep shifting from rain to sleet to snow and back again through to Friday.

For once, there's a major project hanging around that I could do at home. I think I'll gather the necessary materials and make certain that I take them home with me tomorrow evening, so if things get too icy I can stay put.
