More like a Thursday or Friday, although this is also gummed up by the fact that this is the second day of vacation--in a couple of days, I won't be sure what day it is. I slept late, an easily fallen-into habit for which I will pay next week. Called into a dayjob conference call because the main topic was a financial thingie I had put together and I wanted to be there to answer questions. Checked my voicemail, then considered it a workday and got going on other things, namely setting up my G5 iMac.

It is a lovely thing. I was readily able to set up all my email accounts and install MacOffice. I have a wireless mouse/keyboard and the speakers are built in--the number of cords will decrease markedly. I also set up my new all-in-one, which is replacing the G85 that caved a week and a half ago, and found a few of the things I'll be losing by giving up the PC--an answering machine program, and the ability to hook up the desktop, all-in-one, and phone all together. I need to figure out a new way to answer calls and set up the fax. Oh well.

The new all-in-one is an HP 6110, which is, thankfully, smaller than the late G85. Has a flatbed scanner/copier. which is a nice thing to have at home.

So, I am now making Mickey miserable by daring to occupy *his* bedroom (aka my office) at the ungodly hour of 9pm CST, with the radio blaring and lights on and everything. I should start on the day's writing, but maybe I'll give him a break and retire to my own room with the iBook.

Tomorrow, I need to back up the PC on zip disks, then set up the Move2Mac file transfer. After that, I can box up the old faithful 7-year old Gateway, although I will hold onto it until I am sure that I won't need anything on that oh-so-clogged hard drive. Then comes filing, tossing, shredding--the usual. By the time I go back to work on Monday, I should have this office whipped into 2005 shape.

I also built a dining room hutch on Saturday--did I mention that? Ok, it came from a kit, with pre-drilled holes and all. But I did assemble it, and I think it looks pretty good. White with light oak trim, kind of Ikea-like. Goes well with the oak/cream/sage of the dining area.
