I wish.

Was in the bathroom getting ready for work when I heard an unfortunately familiar sound. Ran out to the kitchen in time to see Gaby chuck up on the rug. All she'd had that morning was a hypoallergenic biscuit. Didn't see anything else in the mess that might have triggered an event--leaves of grass, dirt, bits of toy.

I needed to feed King, so I fixed his dish. As I worked, Gaby planted herself nearby and watched, just like always.
I debated feeding her breakfast, but I wanted to get her pepcid dose into her so I gave her a tablespoon of food mixed with crushed tablet. She ate that, then sniffed around. Came over to me as if to say Mom, where's the rest of it? I gave her about half a can of food, which she ate with no issues. Waited about 20 minutes. No problems.

It's been about a half hour since lunch, and she seems to be OK. Fingers crossed.

It's possible that it was just one of those things--all dogs toss up every so often. And while Gaby hadn't thrown up since late November, there were a couple of mornings when she didn't want to eat. Sometimes, she abandoned her biscuit uneaten. By lunchtime, she was usually fine. Dinnertime at the latest. Morning tummy? Maybe. Given her energy levels and the improved condition of her coat, I'm loath to think she's developing a reaction to duck. It seems to like her.

Hoping this was just a hiccup. Guess I'll know by tonight.

One of my cats throws up every morning...usually before I'm fully out of so I'm just guessing that it's Lily. If she eats too fast she also throws it up. Since she's a real fat cat I'm guessing it may be too much cat hair?

Fingers crossed. Gah, this is so frustrating from here. I don't know how you stand it.

I don't want to tempt Fate, but I think it was a transitory spell.

I think it was just one of those things. Gaby's bouncy as hell at the moment. Ate lunch and dinner with no issues.

The vet warned me that it would take patience. I honestly think that the food isn't an issue. Gaby has the sort of system that will occasionally act up no matter what. Pepcid and the right diet so far have been enough to cut the episodes short.

I didn't expect it. But if I think back to her occasional morning food issues, maybe I shouldn't be surprised.
