And after griping about the figure skating, I wound up watching the guys tonight, Johnny Weir in a corset and Evan Lysacek as Darth Spanglegoth. Rooting for Evan, who's currently 2nd. The top three are within a point of one another.

I'm really pleased that the commentators are, at least, keeping conversation to a minimum while the skaters are skating their programs. I enjoyed most of the men's performances. I've decided the event is like snowboard cross on ice. The times when no one makes a mistake are few and far between.

I put up with Costas. It's fun to see him get loopy by the end of the two week period. He's gotten loopy early this year: he's already forgotten Chris Collinsworth's last name once.

LOL re "Darth Spanglegoth"! He did look rather villainous last night, didn't he?

I kept giggling during the "home town" interview segment they did on Yevgeny Plushenko. Every time he started talking about his "enemies" and how he was going to vanquish them, the more I thought he sounded like he'd joined the Russian Mafia. And, my, didn't he look pissed when the Japanese skater got almost as good a score as he did!

Yes, the skating commentators are pretty quiet. You just hear the occasional gasp when a skater screws up.

I usually like Costas. Just not when he talks over medal ceremonies.

Mister Plushenko reminds me of that sniffy guy in Ghostbusters who was Bill Murray's rival for Sigourney Weaver's affections. I can see him now, glaring at Murray while he sprayed decongestant up his nose.

So full of himself.

Go Evan!!!!!

Not only did Evan do well, he's a local boy.

Ah, I've not watched many medal ceremonies yet this year, so I haven't experienced that annoyance.

Man, am I glad I've got a DVR this time around!

*puff piece* zoooooooooooom! On to the events.
