- 21:01:09: @kaylaperrin Are all the medal ceremonies live? if they're taped, they could show them any time.
- 21:02:31: Like now--they're awarding the Men's Mogul medal. This is a good time. And I love the Canadian anthem.
- 21:06:50: Dear Bob Costas...SHUT UP. I don't need your translation for applause or a happy Canadian crowd or the anthem. SHUT THE ^&%$#@ UP!
- 21:08:25: RT @KagroX: People live their whole lives to hear their names called as the Gold Medal winner. But Bob Costas can't shut his fucking mou ...
- 22:07:38: @stuarru Some of the lesser known announcers, the ones who do specific sports, aren't bad. But the emcees...altho I like Mary Carillo.

Date: 2010-02-16 07:11 pm (UTC)I like Costas most times. But a good announcer knows when to keep his mouth shut, and I would think he would know better. I used to hate Chris Berman until the baseball game where Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's record. During the break in the fifth, when the game became official and the record became Ripken's, his teammates talked him into going out on the field to acknowledge the fans. That turned into a good half-hour standing ovation while Ripken walked the edge of the field and shook hands. Berman said something to the effect that sometimes it's better to not say anything, and he kept his mouth shut the entire time. Not a word. I've liked him ever since.
