ksmith: (gimme a break)

Not to give myself a dietary pat on the back--I am a cookieholic, after all--but I do try to avoid fast food. The meat never tastes like meat and the bread is too soft and the veggies taste like nothing and it's all fat, salt, and sugar. And and and**. But I saw the McRib being advertised for its annual limited time run and thought I'd allow myself. I do like bbq, and well, I was in a hurry today and I was curious.

Yeah.

That has got to be the most overrated sandwich ever.

So now I know.

**Culvers actually does a decent walleye pike fry. And their salads are good. But mine are better.

The pressed porkish thing is back? Ick.

At least we have access to a number of decent bbqs now - looks like Friday lunch is a run over to Big Daddy's in St. Paul.

There used to be some really good BBQ places nearby when I was at USF. Fat Boy's. Fat Man's. Sliced smoked meat with sauce on the side.

There is at least one good BBQ place in my vicinity. I need to patronize it more often.

BBQ? YUM! I can understand why you succumbed. We have a BBQ shack in town. Right next to the high school, which is doubtless how it survives. But it has superb BBQ.

I thought it would be sweeter--I prefer sweet BBQ. I should have realized it wouldn't be great, and it sat in my stomach like a rock. Any halfway decent pulled pork sandwich would have blown it out of the water.

I have a crockpot. I should just get some pork and make my own.
