It's been a busy couple of days.

The new Windycon hotel has taken a little getting used to. I miss the Hyatt's lobby lounge with the goldfish pond, coffee shop, and little alcoves. The new hotel is roomier, and is undergoing a renovation. It was a good idea to take one of the lounges and convert it into the Con Suite, which allowed for plenty of room to spread out and lots of seating.

Panels were good, although it should be noted that just because a method works for one writer, it doesn't mean that those who work differently are wrong or, heavens forbid, soft in the head.

"Thinking outside the box", cliche though it may be, is still a valid concept that should be considered by people who make their living in the field of speculative fiction. It's in the title, after all, isn't it? Speculative. Speculate. Hello?

And that's all I'm going to say about that. Deliberately Vague R Us.

Did you know that when you fill out a programming ap for a con, there's a space where you can put names of people with whom you would prefer to not be programmed?

It's a good thing.

Read chapter 1 and part of chapter 2 of Endgame, to a good reception.

Saw [livejournal.com profile] daveamongus and [livejournal.com profile] tappu, and other friends. Met new folks as well. The best times are the between-panel times, stopping for a drink or snack and just talking.

One more panel tomorrow morning. Then, to home.

Programming options

Too bad we can't get that programming option thing at work!

So far I've only had one or two people to list on that form. I usually don't overlap conventions with them. If you have private warnings to pass on, I will share...

Hope it's a good con, overall. Still prepping, here, for the coming weekend...
