I picked as many tomatoes as I felt looked decent, about a third of a shopping bag full of half-green Crim and Roma. Sealed the bag and tucked it in a dark place so they ripen. The tomatoes that are left on the vine are not in good shape--blackening, mushy. Most of the remaining cherry tomatoes are forever green, or split. The stalks have lost their flexibility, and snap when I tug them. Amazing how quickly the plants all turned. I don't think it was the lack of rain as much as the spate of cool days and cooler nights we had recently.

I may pull them up this weekend. Not sure if I will plant more lettuce in their place. It's a possibility. I just hope the weather remains decent enough that I can harvest a few bell peppers.

I went up to pick tomatoes this morning and found 2 of my 10 plants had late blight. First I've ever seen it, although I know it is bad this year. I picked just about everything salvagable, I'm going to bag everything else for disposal tomorrow.

I'm going to pull up my plants this weekend. I'm a little concerned about the soil now. They recommend planting in a new place or replacing some of the soil to prevent a recurrence. I can't plant anywhere else. I placed the raised bed in the sunniest spot in my backyard.
