Yesterday, I cut down the cilantro/coriander plants and shoved the stalks into paper bags so that the seeds can dry. Some of the seeds were already brown, but most were reddish and a few were green. I clipped the bags closed and will leave them in the spare room for a week or two. No idea what I will do with all those seeds. I still have a fair amount of the oregano that I harvested and dried last year, and I used that fairly regularly. And we won't talk about all the blasted rosemary...

This year, I will also be harvesting a lot of sage, which did sort of OK this year. My single thyme plant is doing all right, as well. I think I will have a lot a lot of dried herbs for fall/winter cooking.

Cutting down the cilantro will allow my one sweet pepper to get a lot more sunshine. I hope it helps the existing buds to grow into nice, sweet bell peppers.

Temps are supposed to hit the 90s this weekend. I hope that's enough to kick the tomatoes into ripening overdrive.
