Spent over two hours cleaning out the spare room in preparation for electrician's visit tomorrow. After I evaluated the issue I wanted him to look at, I realized that it was something I could fix myself. Oh well. At least I'm not ashamed to have someone walk in there anymore.

Fingers crossed that things don't go all complicated, and that tomorrow at this time, I have a ceiling fan and better lighting in the kitchen and dining room.
