ksmith...it's raining again. Dodged it all day. But it came in the night, like a big, sodden thing. Hoping it will clear out in a few. Afraid to look in the basement.
I know I seem to have an unhealthy obsession with the precip, but this is the worst Spring for mud that I can recall. Sick of washing doggie towels every few days.
A few days ago, I planted dill and basil seeds in the deck planter. All was well until this morning, when I checked for sprouts and instead found marker sticks scattered and the dirt pitted with holes. Nutsy the Squirrel, I presume.
It's not a wrench. Nothing had sprouted, and I only lost a few days. I'll replant in a few days, but this time I will fashion a cap out of chicken wire and set it atop the planter.
