This is the first time I've ever seen this--personality determination according to blood type.

I'm Type A:

Type As may seem calm on the outside, but inside, you’re filled with anxiety and worry. You’re perfectionists and often shy and sensitive. Usually introverted, you’re stable and thoughtful. You make good listeners and are sensitive to color and your surroundings. You like to be fashionable and are up on the latest trends, but never flashy or gaudy. You like romantic settings and often shun reality for fantasy worlds. A is most compatible with A and AB in the love department. Common career choices: accountant, librarian, economist, writer, computer programmer, and gossip columnist.

It's actually pretty close, says the introvert writer worry wart. I have had coworkers comment on how calm I am when shit hits the fan. They don't see the little person inside who's kicking trash cans across the room. I don't know about the fashionable thing, though. I like fashion magazines, but when it comes to dressing myself, I don;t quite measure up.

I don't know about that. I spent 2008 playing with protein intake. Last January I was wired so tight it's a wonder I didn't completely lose it. Then I learned about proteins in _The Edge Effect_ and with Dr. Braverman himself. Feed me GABA, and I'm vastly calmer. Feed me tryptophan, and my temper is much more even. Feed me acetyl-choline, and I write. Feed me phenylalanine, and I rocket into warp drive. I'm personally amazed at how much I am what I eat. Literally.

While diet can impact behavior, I can see that other factors may have an effect as well.

Type O starts with "you are the social butterflies..."

Stop the presses. Right there. We couldn't be more off the track if we tried.

Given that this is an Asian fad, I can see where there could be other cultural issues involved. And I'm guessing that the percentage of people with Type O overlaps significantly with the percentage of people who are extroverts, so traits being attributed to blood type are in fact due to brain structure/chemistry.

This is popular enough in Japan that I’ll see character blood types listed along with other vital statistics like age in the liner notes for console role-playing games.
