and so it goes
Apr. 6th, 2008 06:00 pmI had set the vacuum cleaner on the curb, along with the rickety chair, and a cheap end table Dad had salvaged. I then added the lidded seat that went with the old organ that had been junked way back in 2004. In the past couple of hours, the seat and the vacuum have been saved by passing strangers, to live another day.
Cubs won. They beat the 'stros 3-2, and I believe have clawed their way back to .500.
Hey, it's early April and they're still in the hunt!

Date: 2008-04-07 03:06 am (UTC)In Minneapolis, electronics are put out on recycling day; the recycling pickup people put a "we'll be back" sticker on it and it sits until the next business day. (Our trash/recycling day is a Friday, so everything we put out sits out all weekend.) I noticed yesterday that while the printer was still sitting there, its power cord was gone. People find the oddest things useful...

Date: 2008-04-07 03:55 am (UTC)I have no idea whether the vacuum cleaner worked or not, but it was an ancient bag variety and parts get hard to come by. I can see where old power cords might come in handy. Always nice to have a spare.
This reminds me that I need to look into a Jet Direct card for my HP1100. I have it hooked up to the iMac with a parallel:USB cable, which worked OK with Tiger but doesn't speak with Leopard at all.
