Timing

It's 343am, and I have just returned from the emergency animal hospital. King hasn't been able to keep food down over the last couple of days. I thought it might be stress and such--things aren't normal around here--so I brought him inside for the night and settled in. He was his usual self, active and nosy. At some point, he ate Mickey's leftover kibble. I read a little, then turned out the lights. A couple hours later, I'm in bed, and I hear sounds.

I debated waiting until morning, to see if my regular vet could see him. Oh well, I wouldn't have been able to sleep anyway.

King's been admitted. The gut xray didn't show anything, so tomorrow he has an ultrasound. If that doesn't show anything, the next step could be the doggie equivalent of an upper GI to check for gut motility. This could be anything from a partial blockage to a tumor to a gut motility issue.

I cleaned up the worst of the mess. I probably should spray some carpet cleaner and let it sit.

Dammit.

That sucks, Kristine. I hope he is ok. I have had a dreadful run with my animals recently. Cat #1 had a tumour. he was to weak to deal with chemo, so we put him down.

he was replaced by a mother and two sons trio.

Son # 1 run over a month later.
Mother run over less than a metre from where son was run over a month later.

Son # 2 is kept inside now.

So I know what you're going through. Good luck!
