While it's an amusing article, there are so many assumptions built into those numbers, it's pathetic.

But what bothers me most isn't about this analysis specifically. I really don't like it when analysts assume only one variable is changing over a large range. While things are generally static, large changes in one variable often cause fluctuations in a lot of other, previously static variables. Especially when it comes to people and how people will react, none of these analyses ever take that into account.

Yeah--I think some of the comments raise some of the same issues.

My hypothesis is that the bloghost is a vampire trying to lull us all into a false sense of security.
