Again with the three miles. I did it again. Unfortunately, this means that 3 miles has officially become my new floor, which means it's no longer "wow, 3 miles" but "oh crap, are we there yet?"

I need to make up a new playlist with some serious industrial and other stuff that moves, because the shoegazer stuff just won't cut it.

I used to subscribe to a podcast that was fast techno music, but I didn't find it very conducive for running.

I ran/walked 2 miles on the treadmill today on a small incline. I like treadmill running because it's easy to do in inclement weather or when it's dark. But there's also more monotony to do it, more tedium, even with the video or radio playing on the Precor.

I use a treadmill as well. I can just plug in the iPod and go--don't have to worry about what's going on around me.

I have incline capability, but haven't tried it yet. I'm trying to speed up in 0.1 mile increments. I'm not sure what to do, add distance or try the incline and/or add speed. Probably both, depending.

I try to vary both -- speeding up for a quarter mile, then slowing down, increasing the incline for a half mile, then dropping it down again. I'm not so much interested in speed as in distance and calories burned (though I don't particularly believe in the number the machine displays, it's a reference point!)

My treadmill has a series of pre-programmed courses that vary the speed and incline automatically. One is, iirc, "golf course." Another is either "racing" or "road race" or something similar.
