If a journal offends thee, cut it off.

feels better

Sarah McLachlan's "Stupid" is the latest entry on the one-song loop. Very applicable to J5. I know I'll tire of it eventually, but it was lather/rinse/repeat for the last two days during the drive to and from the day job.

You know, I've done this a couple of times. At first, I felt guilty (especially because one of the ones I cut off is one of the ones that everyone comments on). But I decided that life *is* too short - your entry title is 100% apt.

Unless mine was the one you cut off :-)

No. ;-P

It was one that lots of folks comment on. The thing with blogs that lots of folks comment on is that they're written by opinionated people who on occasion tick one off. I suppose I could wade in and argue, but popular bloggers are very good at arguing. I tend to get emotionally involved when I argue--contentiousness is not a baseline state of mine--so any disagreement tends to chew up my entire day as I mull mull mull.

Just because you argue well doesn't mean you're right. It just means you argue well.

And that drink looks mighty good--is it a Cosmo?

I enjoy some of her solo work, but I really enjoy her collaboration with Delerium and other similar works.

I'm going through a chick singer phase right now. Sarah, Poe, Beth Orton. Maybe some Garbage to lighten things up a bit.

I agree with you - I do not enjoy argument. (Shocking, when you think I spent seven years of my life as a litigator!)

As for the drink - it's a pulled image from Stock Exchange, where it's listed as "mixed cocktails" (the full image is on my website.) I think of it as a cosmo, though. And it's too early in the morning to think about that any more :-)

Late LJ replies... sorry!

I LOVE Delerium! Enigma too.

Some other female musicians I love (who are in groups or not) are: Portishead, Trespassers William (do you know the? absolutely fantastic, I can send you samples if you like), Tori Amos, Sade, Tracy Chapman, Lauryn Hill, Mazzy Star, BJORK...

If you'd like to hear any of these artists, let me know and I can upload a sample. :)

I think Fallen, from the Chimera CD, is my favorite Delerium song. It's a song sung by a vampire, or another type of lost spirit.

I compiled my Chick List playlist last week. It contains songs by Poe, Delerium, Blondie, Beth Orton, Berlin, Conjure One, Lush, St Etienne, Ivy, and Sarah McLachlan, among a few others. Shirley Manson.

And of course, had to throw in Cyndy Lauper.

I like some Portishead, and Mazzy Star.

I'd like to hear the Trespassers William. Always looking for new music to write to. Thanks!
