Cool. Sunny. Oh, for a few days in the 60s, but we are By The Lake. 60s here means that it's 80s everywhere else, which means not for a few weeks yet.

Allergies going ga-ga. Nose spray, eye drops, and pills--the whole nine yards--and still my head feels about half again as big as it is. Throat itches. Lots of tree pollen about, but I'm pretty sure that's not my problem. My problem, as near as I can figure, is mold. Plain old dust doesn't help, and we dosed ourselves with plenty of that today as we finished up in the garage.

But darn it, it's pretty much all done in there. I have a *big* pile of stuff for the junk guy--I'm hoping he can get it all in one load, but it he can't, I may have to prioritize. Not paying for two truckloads if I can help it.

I figured at the start that I would keep about 10% of what was in there, and I think that's how it worked out. I found my college yearbook--god, did I ever really look that young!--a few coins from my first trip to Europe in 1973, and a photograph of my late grandmother taken in the 19-teens. I assembled the last set of shelves, and may get another set or two. I also still need to get one of those nice rolling tool chests, and mount the lawn tool racks. Also thinking about a work table of some sort, since there never was one in there. If I ever decide to be brave and refinish the kitchen cupboards on my own, being able to work in the garage (with the doors and window wode open) would be a nice option.

So the weekend is winding down, and while I feel very accomplished, I'm also wiped out and wishing for more time. It's nice to feel as though you've actually made a little pocket of order in the ever-churning chaos that is life.

Buffy tonight. Judging from the preview, Buffy's running wild with Faith, and they accidentally kill a man when they mistake him for a fang-y one. Before that, I need to set out the garbage. Then maybe I'll give myself a facial. I could use one.

Good work! I'm glad you discovered some treasures; gotta be a payoff for all that sorting labor.

I also found some letters that he had written me and Mom over 20 years ago. Mom was with me in Columbus--Dad was back in Florida handling his mother's estate, selling two homes, and packing up the contents. Long story as to why we couldn't go back to Florida to help out. Suffice to say we couldn't.

The letters were...a find. My Dad had a distinctive style, and reading those letters is like hearing him speak.

Oh yes. Understood. (I have precious few letters from my dad--really only the one or two he sent me while I was in Europe. I also have a tape, but the leader is broken...I want to get it transferred to CD.)
