Wednesday this 'n' that
Jun. 15th, 2011 11:21 pmYesterday I excavated some containers of homemade tomato puree from the deep freeze. Dug around in the fridge, and found part of an onion, some wilted celery, and a chunk of meatloaf. Sautéd the onion and celery, then added the puree, black and kidney beans, cumin, chili powder, cayenne pepper, the meatloaf, and let it simmer for a few hours. Decent chili. Lots of leftovers for freezing.
We've had chili-style weather the last few days, cool and rainy. It's supposed to warm up this weekend, but I'll believe it when I feel it.
I trashed the broccoli raab sprouts that had flowered, and planted more seeds. Some of the lettuce is ready to cut. At least something likes the cool weather.
