Apr. 18th, 2011 07:27 pmThis morning's snow is pretty much gone. The rest will be washed away by tomorrow's thunderstorms.
This so-called spring has sucked for breath so far.
Working in the dining room. Pups are sacked out on the floor. Had to take King to the vet for his Lyme booster. I took Gaby along to provide moral support, and wound up having her nails trimmed. They both behaved very well. King actually licked the tech's mouth after his shot. Even though his weight is fine and the diet is going well, I rewarded him with an extra half-cup of food for dinner. Much better behavior on his part than was in evidence yesterday, when he ran around like an idiot, barked at everything, gulped his dinner then ate grass and poop and came inside to hork it all up. Call it a terrible two's kind of day.
Even when they're good, it's still wearing to take them anywhere. Line the backseat with blankets for King, then install the barrier bars so he can't get into the front seat when we stop. Make sure I put a towel on the front seat for Gaby. Make sure the seats are adjusted so himself can boost his big fanny onto the seat. Handle the excitement as I put on the barn coat--they both associate the barn coat with OUTSIDE!!--then get the leashes. When they see the leashes, it's all insanity all the time. King barks at me, he gets so excited. Then they get bundled in the car to get needled and trimmed.
They're good puppies. Sometimes.
