Sunday dinner
Nov. 14th, 2010 02:12 pmIna Garten's Company Pot Roast is in the oven. Flying S chuck roast. Parsnips. Carrots. Celery. No leeks. Beef stock and bouillon instead of chicken.
There will be leftovers.
ZOMG, is this good. I used my hand-held blender/mixer thingie for the first time to puree the veggies, and it worked well. Pureed half the veggies in less than 30 seconds, so I didn't have to slop the stuff into a food processor. The carrots and parsnips infused the sauce, along with the rosemary. Lots of sauce left. I see soup in my future.
Really happy with the Flying S beef so far. The filet I had last week was lovely, and this chuck slid off the bone and was pretty much fork tender.
