Nothing alarming. ::crosses fingers, as one does:: Just King's semiannual senior exam and Gaby's Lyme vaccination.
Given the 8am app't, I prepped the car the night before. Blankets on front and rear seats. Installation of the barrier between the front and rear seat, which I use to keep King from pushing into the front seat as soon as I pull into the vet parking lot.
Gaby was an angel, lying quite still as Vet gave her her shot. King is more of a nervous Nelly, so they took him in the back to given him his bordatella vaccine, trim his nails, and draw blood. The blood test is to check his thyroid function, as he has gained weight over the last few months even though I have cut back on his food. He's back up to 121, dammit, when a year ago he was down to 110.
Part of it could be that he's old. He's not as active as he used to be, and he should get more exercise. But there's a possibility that his thyroid is a factor, so we will confirm/rule out. I am betting, though, that it's a combo of age and increasing inactivity. I may need to change his food, or feed him less. We'll see.
They're home now, sleeping. Gaby skipped breakfast, but King ate of course. It's still raining, but that should end soon. After it does, I will go grocery shopping. Haircut later.
I can still detect eau de polecat around the place, but it's very faint.
I hung out the fall wreaths on the garage and house. Fake foliage, but bright shades of orange, red, and brown that liven the place up a bit.
