Happy Labor Day
Sep. 6th, 2010 11:04 am...to all who celebrate.
The day began rainy, but I think that's over. It's off and on sunny now. I hope the clouds keep it from getting as hot as originally predicted. 80s are fine. Lo 80s. Not 90, please. Had enough of that.
Went through the bag-ripening tomatoes, and pulled out enough to justify a blanch-and-freezer-bag session. Went to the hardware store to get a furnace filter, and found bird seed on sale, so stocked up for the fall onslaught. Then I stopped at the local Really Good Donut place for a half dozen donuts, sour cream and cherry and apple. Businesses were putting out chairs along the curbs in preparation for the parade this afternoon.
I can't believe the three-day weekend is almost over. Welp, off to blanch tomatoes.
