8:49 am CST, and the outdoor thermometer, which is in the shade, already registers 80F. It's going to be a scorcher.

A trip to the Apple Store is planned. After that, grocery shopping at the nice store with the good fish counter, which is too far away to justify regular trips but happens to be located on the route to the Apple Store...which is luckily also too far away to justify regular trips.

Dinner later will consist of Herbed Pork Tenderloins, along with side dishes I have yet to figure out. The loins have been marinating all night, and the marinade smelled so light and fresh. I was able to use my own rosemary and thyme, which was neat. I had two types of thyme, the regular kind and a lemon variety that really did have a lemony scent. What better thyme to use is a lemon-garlic marinade than lemon thyme?

The Apple store had no screen protectors for the iPad, and the clerk told me that they had no plans to stock any. I wonder if that means a redesign is coming soon? They had no cases, either. Not even sleeves. As soon as they got them in, they sold them

Anyway, I bought what I was able to, a wireless keyboard and a stand. However, the stand may be rendered redundant because when I got home, I hunted around online and ordered this case, which doubles as a stand and allows display at multiple angles. Of course, if I keep the iPad in the folio, no one will see my neat Gelaskins. So many accessories, so little time.

I also got a screen protector. I think it's funny that it cost more than the folio case.

JJill had a sale, so I bought some shirts for the day job. Then it was on to the grocery store with the good fish counter--wild Alaskan King salmon and wild Alaskan sockeye were got, as well as tuna steaks. The store also has a good bakery--whole grain rolls and muffins were bought in excess. That's what the deep freeze is for.

The herbed pork t-loin was delicious, so moist and tender. Had it with steamed broccoli and little red potatoes roasted with olive oil, garlic, rosemary, and dill. Didn't go with a white, but had a cabernet sauvignon instead. Gallo Estate, OK, but it was pretty good.

In other news, I just saw that Cillian Murphy is in Inception. This may just drive me to go see it. Wouldn't cross the street to see DiCaprio, but Mr. Murphy is another matter. I think it's the eyes. And the bones. That man is going to age in a most interesting manner, methinks.

In other other news, the firecrackers are cracking, King is edgy, and Gaby is woofing at me because King is getting all the attention. Gonna be a long evening.

Just a note to say that neither of the Cuisinart frypans were large enough to hold two 1-lb tenderloins, so I used the5.5 quart casserole, which is like a sauté pan without the handle. Worked a treat, and fit better in my small oven than a pan with a handle would have. Very easy clean up, too. Hot water soak, followed by Bartenders Helper. These pans are more delicate than what I'm used to--I managed to scratch the inside of one of the pots with the scrubbing side of a scrubber sponge, and scratched another pot when I used metal tongs to toss pasta. Oh well. If I wanted them to look perfect, I would hang them on the wall and live on take-out.

We now return you to your regular Sunday night...
