Tuesday this 'n' that
Apr. 20th, 2010 07:23 pmThe landscapers were by today. They did an *amazing* job--the yard looks like it's had a haircut, shower, paws 'n' claws, facial, and a fancy body wrap. Two men worked from 730am-5pm, with a break for lunch. I think it would have taken me the entire summer to do what they did.
The only issue is so trivial, yet comical. They raked, weeded, edged, and mowed everything, even the fenced-offarea around the raised bed. I don't think they knew what chives were, and thought they were weeds, because they whacked those as well--I came home at lunch to let out the pups, and I'm gaping at the neat way they edged around the raised bed fencing, and then it hit me that the chives were not visible. But, chives grow back, and I'm not crazy about them anyway. I will tell them to leave the inside of the enclosure to me, though, after I plant the tomatoes and such.
In not-so-great news, I may have to work through the eBay complaint system to get the money back for the mixer I have yet to receive. I checked the seller's ratings prior to bidding, and while there were a few complaints, they weren't recent. Other folks were happy, even though their mixers took 3 weeks to a month to ship. My transaction is approaching the 3-week mark. I have emailed the seller. If I don't hear anything by the end of the week, I'm emailing eBay. Guess the deal was too good to be true.
Hitting the keyboard for the next few weeks. 1K words last night. I wanted 1600, so. Will try to make them up tonight. 10 pages on a weeknight may be an impossibility, but I will do my best.
I'm so happy about the yard, I can't stand it.
