The temp inside the house is 70F, and I have all the windows open. I even brought the floor fan up from the basement.

The drive home...wow. Shirtsleeves. Sunroof wide open. Sunglasses on. Kuro's thermometer read 80F. We're supposed to get a couple more days of this. Then temps drop to more seasonable 60's, which still ain't bad.

I can't describe what effect the sun and warmth has had on my mood. It's like it's great to be alive, or something.

It helps that I finished a day job project by the deadline, which was today. An official goal, so it mattered.

The only fly in this vat of ointment is the bugging-me-ness of my right knee. I tried adding some running to my race walking late last week, and re-injured whatever it was I injured before. Knee felt all hyperextendy. I walked Monday, but had to cut short tonight's session. Icing the damned thing now.

The Hawks are playing the Wild tonight. Minnesota is out of the playoffs, which means they will probably shellac the Hawks. I am not looking forward to the playoffs is all I can say. Hell with it.

King and Gaby are barking now because they can hear neighbor dogs through the open windows. King is barking at the dogs, and Gaby is barking because King is barking. You can tell she has no clue. She's too short to see out the window, so she's wagging her tail and looking at me. And barking. She hops a little every time she barks.

Saw this on Ezra Klein's blog. I'm not a Top 40 fan, but this is catchy. And Monae has a very nice voice. And the dancing is cool.

In other news, the pups have finally calmed down--post-prandial playtime got completely out of hand for a while--and are dozing. Hawks are winning 3-0 halfway through the 3rd period. Some discussion about the spell they are going through. Every team goes through one over the course of the season, and they know they need to dig deep and work through it. They are still confident. Good. They should focus some of that confidence on their power(less) play.

But Niemi has been great so far. ::wood with the knocking thing::
