30s outside. Cloudy. The outermost edge of the storm that is hitting the Northeast is curving over us, hence the clouds and the light dusting of snow. Hope everyone is OK out thataways. Still have power. Not buried.
For all I slept later than usual--8am *eek!*--I do need to be productive today. Give all the tax info one last go over before packing it up to mail on Monday. A little light grocery shopping--milk, salad greens--but nothing major because so help me I think I could live off the contents of the deep freeze for a month. Haircut today. Massage too, which will feel good as my shoulders are a bit tight.
Gaby (aka One of the Reasons My Shoulders Are Tight) continues to mend. Took her in for an unscheduled check-up yesterday because she still seemed reluctant to put any weight on her injured leg and vet said bring her in. They checked the bandage in case it was too tight--it wasn't--as well as the wound itself. Healing continues. Given that Gaby is in good spirits and leaves the bandage and her leg alone--no tugging and minimal licking--vet thinks that she simply doesn't like the bandage. It's scheduled to come off on Monday...although I will say that Gaby is becoming expert at getting around on three legs.
I am considering getting her mukluks to wear for the rest of the winter so that this doesn't happen again. King and booties would be a non-starter, but Gaby seems sanguine about it. Within a day, she figured out that she couldn't go outside without the bag-boot over her bandage--she either stands still while I put it on her or lies down and rolls over and holds out her leg.
Her appetite has returned as well. Still eating the duck. ::relief::
39 pounds. I still can't get over it.
King will get his chance to take a ride to the vet in two weeks, when he has his six month senior physical and a Lyme titre check. Good thoughts appreciated. I am hoping that the last round of antibiotics knocked the skids out from under the bug. If not, another month of dosing will be needed. The drug doesn't seem to bother King, and he's on the probiotic now in any case. I would just feel better if I knew that this was under control.
After 10 already. Need to get moving.
