  • 07:10:38: ::yawn:: getting ready for work. But after today, 5 Days OFF! OK, that includes a weekend, but still.
  • 20:49:11: Watching the Hawks play the Sharks. Not looking good for the Westsiders.

We got 2-3 inches of snow yesterday, so I did my first driveway shoveling of the winter. I hope it hangs around for Christmas, but it might not. We will have temps in the mid-30s for the next two days, along with a little sleet and rain today and a lot of rain tomorrow. Snow could be gone by Friday. Hope they err on the temps. I prefer nice, crunchy snow to slush, at least for Christmas. After that, it should all vanish like it never happened. Mud Season should be a thing of the past, a distant memory.

Yeah.

Off to shop this morning for the last round of groceries and some stuff from the hardware store. The pups got me up around 730. Gaby is outside now. Occasionally her howly barks cut through the gloom, really an odd sound--she just puts her little head back and yodels away.

Deer tracks in the front yard, and one of the frozen pumpkins was demolished. Do deer eat pumpkin? I imagine if they get hungry enough, they eat anything.

After I get home, I need to fill the woodboxes. Put some seed int he bird feeders. After that, who knows? May just kick back.

Shopping's done. The hardware big box had all their decorations marked down, and I found some Christmas stockings printed with Labrador retrievers. Bought two. I'm guessing they may have been meant for hunters, but they're King's and Gaby's now. Filling them will be a problem, though. I found some smaller Kong toys, and nylon bones. But treats are out unless I can find duck jerky or something similar sans barley or oats, and I failed on that count. So Gaby will have to content herself with toys, and King will as well because Gaby watches what he gets and wants it, too. I don't even want to risk pig ears at this point since things are ::knock wood:: going smoothly.

Freezing rain started as I drove home. Fine crystals. I unloaded the car, then filled the bird feeder. The wood boxes. Found some stale cereal in the cupboard, and tossed it in the front yard for the squirrels and the crows.

A good day to stay indoors.

We're under an Ice Storm Warning until tomorrow afternoon. Less than half an inch expected, but it doesn't take much.

Hates ice. Hates it.
