ksmith: (gimme a break)
Neither regular vet nor specialist vet rec'd I dose Gaby with probiotics, but thanks to a recommendation by [livejournal.com profile] amyirene_40, I ordered this stuff anyway, and gave Gaby a dose with her dinner today. She has had loose stool over the last few days, which could be because of 1) the wormer she's on, 2) the recent food change to duck&sweet potato, which was done more quickly than advisable because the duck was all she would eat, 3) the intestinal flora imbalance wrought by the metronidazole, 4) her torqued little body, or 5) any combo of the above take your bloody pick.

I also mixed up rice real good with both her lunch and dinner, at suggestion of regular vet. Anything we can do to bind her up a little. Cleaning up dog doo first thing in the ante emma is not my fave way of greeting the day. In all other ways, she is her own self--bouncy, good appetite, argumentative. Just the poo issue. I hope those allergy panel test results show up this week.

To top it all off with a fricking cherry, King went through a momentary (I hope) fit of "Oh My Tummy" about an hour after he ate dinner. He had to go outside REALFAST--when I checked him, he was chomping grass in that hurry up way he had when he was suffering gastritis on a regular basis. When he came inside, he drank a lot of water. I gave him a pepcid and a sucralfate. After that, he slept for a time, and he seems to have settled down. I just let Gaby outside, and he didn't want to follow, which is a good sign. It means he doesn't feel the urge to eat any grass.

We'll see what 2am holds. That's usually the time when all hell breaks loose.

What else? Oh, the deer mice that got into the basement a couple of weeks ago apparently littered. I've been trapping baby deer mice for the past four days.

Taken separately, these are all manageable things. All at once, they add up to a big case of Can I Go To Aruba Now?
