ksmith: (King2)
Several months ago, I bought a doggy drinking fountain via my company want ads. It consists of a hard plastic water bottle that holds about 2 gallons--it inverts over the bowl thingie just like a 5-gallon bottle inverts over a water cooler. It proved to be pretty grimy and didn't seem too stable, but it only cost $10 and I thought I might be able to use it outside if nothing else.

I never got around to trying it out with the Mickster, but I have finally set it up for King. I figure that the trick with regards stability is to only fill the jug halfway at most. I've also set it in a corner atop a towel, which in turn is spread atop a plastic bag. Yes, King could tip it if he really, really tried, but he could tip a regular bowl as well. I think keeping the jug half empty eliminates most of the risk.

King drinks out of it, but he's wary. The bottle gurgles as it dispenses, and that takes him aback.

I'm trying to write. In the background, the sound of a bouncing ball. King is bored and wants to play--my sinuses are draining, ears are still closed up, I still feel kinda lousy, and well, I have to work. But King sits in front of me and stares. Tries to put his paw in my lap. Goes off and bounces the ball. Comes back and stares some more.

There is a little bit of rain coming--maybe the pressure change is bugging him. It wasn't like he was cooped up all day--he did have a good amount of exercise. He's just being huggy, and he sheds on the keyboard.
