Saturday morning
Feb. 9th, 2008 07:30 amKing was adamant that 715am was much too late to remain in bed on a Saturday morning, even a freezing cold and gray one. So I'm up, coffee is made, and King is looking for a place to lie down after having, judging from the undertones in the silence and the direction from whence he just came, excavated my bedroom trashcan and left the shredded contents on the floor.
::goes to check::
I accused in error. There is nothing on the floor. I won't apologize, though. I know from experience that it isn't a case of Good Dog. More like a Dog Who Is Biding His Time.
Warm enough outside for the icicles to drip, but that will change by afternoon. Temps will plunge and the wind will pick up, and we'll be under wind chill advisory. The weatherfolk are keeping an eye on a system that could bring more accumulating snows Monday into Tuesday. I'm so sick of Winter I could howl, but the snow muffles the noise and ruins the effect.
I'll be off in a while to take the iMac to the Apple store for repair. Got the grocery shopping out of the way yesterday, so intentions upon my return are to attempt once more to set up the wireless network (which should work this time given that I know now how to properly power down the modem), bake cookies (some of which will go to snow-removing neighbors), and write. I should work on tax stuff for a little while, but one piece of paper is still outstanding so I don't feel too guilty about ignoring it. I so wanted to get the bulk of the chore done last month, but. So much for that.
