Happy Easter, for them as celebrates. I ate more chocolate than was good for me, and enjoyed a dinner of broiled lamb chops with cherry sauce, baked spuds, and broccoli. Really good.
Yup, I've changed my LJ style again. This is something called "Woodcut Spring" which I think goes well with my default icon even though the styles/periods don't exactly match up. There are also Summer, Autumn, and Winter Woodcuts, so I'll adjust to suit as the year goes on.
Mixed messages in yesterday's mail. On the good news end of the spectrum, received completed tax forms from Lightning Fast Accountant, who had only received my info on Monday. Granted, I don't believe mine is the most complex filing in the world, but still. Fast. Nice refund will be coming. I know I should probably adjust my withholding, but I have my reasons for doing things this way. In any case, Wiscon is paid for, and I can get some stuff for the spring gardening sessions, which should take place sometime in August given the way the weather is going around here. Save a little, spend a little, pay down a bill. Trying to be responsible.
On the not so good news end of the spectrum, royalty report. That's what four years between books will do to you, I guess. Not an interval I'd recommend for any newbies out there, although sometimes you don't have much say in the matter.
Nothing like business news to make a writer grumble into their beer. Tea. Coffee. Sparkling water. Whatever.
Massage yesterday as well--oy, did I need it. Masseuse did a really nice job hitting the trigger points along both shoulder blades. Over time, I've noticed that the general level of ouch had decreased quite a bit. I'm glad I started doing this.
Bose Wave Thingie arrived Friday. It's only about 1/6 the size of the stereo it's replacing, and sounds really nice. Said stereo went to the local Salvation Army center. I got the impression they're not used to getting totally operational systems complete with the manual and remote. I hope someone can make use of it.
