I'm taking something from page 123 of ENDGAME because anything that has yet to be copyedited is still a work-in-progress:
Jani glanced at John, who perched on the edge of an end table, arms folded, staring at the floor. "What difference does it make whether they know this or not? They did what they did--they can't cover it up. They invaded a sovereign state, and they didn’t inform Markos before they tramped through his flowerbed to do it. They're in trouble."
