First chapters
Mar. 2nd, 2007 10:11 pmI know what happens during this chapter. I'm just afraid/reluctant to start writing it.
1830s language--will I screw it up? Does it matter now? I can check later. That fear of taking the first wade into a new book, because beginnings are the hardest things for me. Where to begin? Will it grab interest? Is this the right starting place? Does the reader need to know this, when this is the only chapter set in this time--the next chapter will leap to the relative present. Does this story suck?
IOW, the usual.
My shoulders and back ache. I've been a clenched fist the entire day, and I don't know why.
