So tomorrow, the heating/cooling guys will be installing a stent in my chimney. Apparently if you have a high efficiency furnace and an older chimney, you can have venting problems that can lead to deterioration of the masonry (warning--NYT link, reg'n required). I don't know why this issue didn't come up before, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the pipe insertion works and the masonry is still in good shape. Please?

Busy at work. it used to be that December was a laid-back sort of month, a time to catch up on filing and desk cleaning and all those projects that fell by the wayside as the firefighting took over one's life. Doesn't seem to be the case anymore. The phone doesn't ring as much, but that's about it. I have a busy two weeks ahead of me. I will then start off 2007 with a week's vacation, which will be much needed thanks to Book.

Book?

Book!

I start the weekend with a dental appointment at 8am on Saturday. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Today was the free holiday lunch at the day job. Sliced turkey or roast beef with all the trimmings, guaranteed to have you diving under your desk for impromptu naps for the rest of the day. Tomorrow, I bring in cookies--cherry chocolate chip. The Holiday Feeding Season has begun.

Why exactly do certain folk friend/unfriend over the course of a few hours? I mean, what the hell is the point?

Funny how you can usually tell by the username that they likely won't be staying long. Mixed letters and numbers in names and lots of x's and all that.

Don't they have anything better to do...?

...Mickey apparently doesn't care for Mozart. I've been getting the hairy eyeball here in home office land for the last few minutes.

Now he just got up and left.

I think he may be more a Handel dog, or something...
