ksmith: (snowflakes)
Welp, we had Weather. I had brought work home in anticipation of a Snow Day, and that was a good move because I shoveled off and on for a few hours and I still can't get Kuro out of the garage.

I think we wound up with about a foot of snow. Wet, heavy stuff that sticks to the shovel. If you try to push it, it packs together--it's snowball optimal. Jams snowblowers. The city snowplow didn't come through until late this afternoon, and built up a nice dam of the stuff at the end of my driveway. I had just started whittling away at it when my neighbor's son came by and asked if I needed help. YES! said I. Took us a half hour to get rid of that stuff. Then my neighbor came over and cleared the area in front of the mailbox, which said snowplow had made damn close to impenetrable.

I still need to shovel in front of the garage. Temps have plummeted, so everything should be frozen, crunchy, and skatey-rinky by tomorrow morning.

My left elbow is killing me. My back and shoulders are stiff. Ibuprofen is my friend.

I'm not sure if this was the heaviest December 1st snowfall on record, but if it wasn't, it was damned close.
