...and LJ returns. What, me addicted? Nah. Didn't even notice it was...gone...

*sniff*

In other news, my DSL provider admitted in their Service Report that they did work on the system a few days ago, which explains why my internet connection keeps kicking me to the curb every few minutes. This happened the last time AT&T performed maintenance as well. IIRC, it took 3-4 days for all the chunks and lumps to clear out. I don't know what they do when they perform maintenance, but they sure do it.

Busy day yesterday, starting with an unexpected haircut at 830am. I did want the haircut--needed it badly, in fact--but when I called the place at 8am-ish, I expected to get a recording with business hours, not an actual receptionist with news that my cutter had a cancellation that morning and could I make it over at 830am? So, poured coffee down my throat did I and took off to get my hair cut. Also checked out the salon's new fitness center, and made an appointment with a trainer for next Saturday. On the way home, saw that the local quick-lube place was open and didn't have anyone waiting, so as soon as I got home, I piled into Harrison and took him in for some much needed PM. After that, home, then out again with clothes for Salvation Army drop-off, then a detour to check mail and run Kuro through the car wash. Grocery shopping, then home for the duation.

Bought a new beer, Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat, which contains "coriander and other flavors". I'm usually pretty forgiving where beer is concerned, but this was a mistake. The coriander gives the beer a weird herbal flavor that makes it clash with what I normally think of as "beer food." A hot dog, in one case. A chicken panini in another. Not a good mix at all.

In the afternoon, I raked the backyard under low clouds and wind-driven sprinkles, resulting in the collection of 10 lawnbags of leaves. Today, it's calm and sunny, and I think I will rake the front.

ksmith: (honey locust)
Honey locust in autumn
Leaves like gold coins
Slip between my rake prongs
Too small for the leaf blower
Hide between the leaves of grass
Fucking things are everywhere
Die, honey locust!
Lightning strike!
Infestation!
Whatever!
Die! Die! Die!

Well, the good news is that the e-arc version of Incident appears to be available at the Universe website. But I keep entering my password, and it won't take it.
