Scoring work clothes
May. 3rd, 2006 08:36 pmOne very nice worsted wool trouser suit in dark navy for less than the retail price of the trousers alone. Have I ever mentioned how much I love Sierra Trading Post?
I am now placating my handbag jones by buying used on eBay. A couple of Dooney & Bourke bucket bags, one in brown/tan and one in navy/tan, each for about 10-15% the cost of a new bag. One bag could use a trip to the leather repair place, but it's not a big deal.
I like good used bags. It looks as though I'm the one who has owned them for years, and, well, that's part of the point.
Oh, and a hint if you ever think you might want to sell a handbag on eBay--CAP YOUR PENS. The biggest strike I've seen against nice used handbags is that the inside liner is inkstained.
Shoes...unfortunately, a trickier prospect.
