It's the 2nd of January in northern Illinois, and it's pouring rain and thundering. I'm trying to content myself with the fact that if this was falling as snow, it would take me until April to dig myself out.

I watched some of the Rose Parade, and some segments about the weather in California. One of the state officials they spoke with (Shorelines, Beaches, forgot the name of the agency) was a woman named Dusty Drane.

Not today, and not for the near future from the looks of things.
