House neep
Oct. 22nd, 2005 02:04 pmOh my--the things they've been able to do with ceramic tile over the years.
Back from the Big Box Hardware Store, and things have once again changed. Found a more narrow (4" rather than 6") wallpaper border--cream with a brown border and an unobtrusive print of what appears to be cranberries on the branch. Subtle colors--wines, umbers, and sage. Works well with the current paint. Gone is the chair rail idea--there's enough wood in the room as it is.
Also picked out the baseboard, but couldn't bring it home because I didn't think to take the truck. I'll wait until the Sunday ads come out to see if I can catch a sale.
No more mitering corners! I was concerned abut how to angle the inside corners, but they sell decorative corner pieces that render that a nonissue.
I will also be changing switchplates. Found a nice pattern called "roseberry" that will work well in the dining room. Not completely settled about what pattern to use in the kitchen.
Much ordering will be done after I get home from WFC.
