We'll see how it goes

pbray for this. I've been enjoying her accounts of her bike rides and training for her upcoming trip. I can't run--tried, and my knees won't take it. Working out indoors...eh. I need to do something in the exercise vein, so...after pondering for a week or so, I stopped by our highly-regarded local bike shop and bought a bike. It's the one in the icon, a Trek 7100 Hybrid in shades of dull green/gold--looks more like dark/light platinum to me, but what do I know?
Oh, the toy possibilities. I had the little odometer attached, as well as the water bottle thingie, the tool kit bag, and the pump, not to mention the bike rack for the Forester. A helmet. Had a gel-filled seat put on. I better ride the thing is all I can say.
I did try the thing out, and I will say that it felt strange to ride a bike for the first time in *mumblemumble* years. Still need to work out the gear settings--the shop owner did instruct me but I never get things like this the first time through anyway. Got some hands-on instruction in changing tires--hope I remember it if/when the time comes.
Bikebikebike!
And for the winter, we may at long last give xcountry skiing a try.
