Swiped from[livejournal.com profile] mevennen, and pretty much true despite the extreme nature of some of the questions.

You Are 53% American
Most times you are proud to be an American.
Though sometimes the good ole US of A makes you cringe
Still, you know there's no place better suited to be your home.
You love your freedom and no one's going to take it away from you! (including the idiots who are supposed to be working for me)

Tomorrow's my birthday, the 47th in what I hope proves a long-running series. I usually try to avoid thinking about birthdays and the unspoken reality of the years going by, but that's difficult to do when you've family around. They tend to like to remind you, if only as an excuse to sing off-key and eat cake.

Strange dream last night. All I recall clearly is that I was pulled over for speeding--I remember thinking that dammit, I was going to have to spend all day Saturday in Traffic School.

Almost 1400 words on Jani 5 today. Unfortunately, they're for a scene near the end of the book, not the current chapter. In a way, however, this was a good thing to work through. I have a thread running through the book that's a little iffy, but it's necessary to make the ending work. This morning, as the first wave of awakening hit, I realized there was a parallel between the thread and what Jani is going through near the end of the book. This was a good thing to realize because it justifies the thread, and Jani's understanding of what happened in the thread and what is happening to her shakes her up and compels her to tap the brake and think about what she's doing.

I hope that made sense. It makes perfect sense to me until I try to explain it.

Fireworks are popping down the street. Oh Happy Happy.

Finally, I lightened my hair today. Nothing drastic, just a three-shade thing. Still brown, just lighter. Looks like I spent all summer sailing or something.
