Mundane matters
Feb. 8th, 2005 07:59 pmHair. The cutter I had been searching for my whole adult life, who knew how to cut my thin, fine, straight hair, left the salon I go to. It was not a friendly separation, so no idea where she went. The last time I had my hair cut, it was by one of the other stylists--she did an ok job, but it wasn't the same. There is another cutter there who I will try. I really hope she works out.
I am also debating letting the mop grow out. Not to the former below-the-shoulder length, but possibly somewhere between chin and top of shoulder. The way my hair grows, it will take eons, but we'll see how it goes.
Three-four months of growing out past my collar. The tweenie stage. Can't wait.
Taxes. I think that all the necessary docs are in. The first step is to sit down and collate receipts, something I swear that I will do via Quicken but which I never seem to get around to. Then we get to see how well Turbo works on a Mac.
Office. Still fairly clean after the holiday sweep-out.
Winter. Still here. Could get an inch or two of snow tonight. The ground has already refrozen, which is a good thing to some extent.. The early thaw had resulted in a backyard of spongy mush with patches of remaining snow. Now that snow has refrozen to a smooth slickness that with a little Zambonification could serve as a decent ice skating surface. The guys tried to run about this evening and gave up--feet kept slipping and legs kept going out from under. I'm glad they stopped--figuring out how to hoist a 100-lb dog with an injured leg into the cab of the pickup truck would have made for a fraught-filled evening.
