The power is out here, thanks to some sort of wind damage. It's been out since 9am, and could remain out until this evening. The wind keeps honking, and the temp is dropping. I'm almost tempted to start a fire, but I don't know if the best chimney cap in the world could keep the smoke from backing up in this wind.

...electricity returns as darkness falls, meaning that not much useful got done today. Switched out a smoke alarm. Set up the new wireless doorbell, but didn't install it because I wanted to make sure that there were no conflicts with the cordless phone. Got the fireplace going for the first time this season, a necessary thing considering that the temp in my office dropped to 63F. At least we were able to keep the living room comfortable.

After the power returned, I was able to determine that there were no conflicts with the phone. Yea.

Mother Nature did a good job of pushing the leaves into piles against the fence. Maybe tomorrow we'll give the new leaf vacuum/grinder thingie a whirl.

The excitement never stops when you have a house...
