It's Monday evening already. Insert usual comments about time's passage.

Forgot where I left off on updates, but here goes--went to last night's GoH speeches, interesting and sometimes funny reminiscenses from Patricia McKillip and a more political speech from Eleanor Arnason that provided food for thought. After that came the parties--after spending some time at the WFC 2005 party, wandered down to the Broad Universe suite in search of chocolate. Chocolate was found. Wound up staking out a place there and talking until after 1am.

Dragged out of bed around 830a. Didn't initially plan to have a real breakfast, but my body was telling me that I was dehydrated and not up to snuff nutritionally, so downstairs we went for oatmeal with fruit, a side of ham, and tea instead of coffee. Felt much better afterwards.

The Writers in Midlife not-really-a-panel was very good, as it was last year. Discussion about where we were, how things were going. They hope to hold it next year as well, which I hope they do.

Last but not least came the Signout, the mass autographing session. Talked to Mary Anne Mohanraj, my table mate, and even signed a few books. In the meantime, it hailed outside, and proceeded to rain off and on for most of the afternoon. Flights out of OHare were delayed, so some folks are stuck here until tomorrow.

Have I mentioned that we don't need anymore rain?

Home tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed that there are no leaks anywhere. Pick up the pups from the kennel, then settle back in to the routine.
