Live from C'ville
Mar. 23rd, 2004 08:27 pmDamn, that's a long drive. A shade over 850 miles, spread out over 2 days.
Rolled into C'ville around 5pm. Final verdict. The first half of the trip (Illinois and Indiana) was boring, complicated by the fact that you need to drive around all the semis. The second half of the trip (Kentucky, WV, and Va) is really pretty--driving through the WV mountains is downright Space Mountainish at times given the speed with which one takes some of the curves. Still a lot of trucks, but at least there are mountains. Spring hasn't really sprung there yet--grass is still brown and trees are bare. It must be lovely during the summer.
I phoned the kennel. The puppies are doing great. They're eating well, and according to their handler, they're a "blast".
C'ville seems like a nice, small city at first glance. Tomorrow I hope to ride the streetcar--it circles the historic district and goes to the University of Virginia--and find a spa. I'm in the mood for a facial.
