ksmith: (honey locust)

This has been all over the place and you’ve probably already seen it so you don’t need to see it again but I’m posting it anyway. Because enough folks thought it worth listening to. And it is.

In the meantime, I shall shop for groceries and put gas in the car, visit the hardware store and check the mail. Art may be committed later in the day, but to be honest I am still calling it craft at this point.

WOW! Blurry screen virus, my own shouts of YES! THAT! and so on.

The craft is behind the art, the way the physical works of eye and brain are behind vision.

But you, Kris, do make good art.

I needed to hear what he said. I'm glad I posted it on the website blog, because I can dig it out of the archives and listen to it when I need a boost. Or a boot.

And thanks. I tend to think that craft is the act of writing, while art is the effect it has on the reader.

He's so brilliant and seems like such a pleasant person, too.
