Pickle Wars.

So, what's yer pref--sweet (gherkins, etc), bread and butter, or dill?

I'm a b&b person myself.

Well--

I can actually buy Claussen's Hearty Garlic Deli slices, because they don't have corn syrup.

But writer Ru Emerson makes the most awesome sweet gherkins in the world--vanilla and cinammon sticks, oh my...

Sweet gherkins or crunchy dills (Polskie Ogorski, I think). I spent a while in childhood eating sandwiches of bologna on white bread with lots of gherkins. Mmmmm.

Dill... the more garlicky the better. The only pickle I like from the sweet side of the spectrum is the almighty Beet.

I like dills, but bread & butters are my absolute favorite.

One of my grandmothers used to make homemade B&Bs that were amazing. Now I just have to settle for store-bought, but that's okay. :)

BOTH kosher dills and B&B's. Homemade B&B's are heavenly.

Also homemade mustard pickles, made with B&B's.

Hatehatehate sweet gherkins. Icky.

Dill, heavy on the garlic or heavy on the dill. Either will do, just make it *strong*. My friends all seem to have a fetish for taking pictures of me with large dill pickles enjoying them muchly.

I like sweet gherkins with a salty sandwich, like ham. Good gherkins are hard to find, though. Sometimes the flavor hasn't much depth.
